Authentic. Compassionate. Creative. Expectant.
I have been formed in contemplative accompaniment, which offers 'a long, loving look at the real'. This approach engenders curiosity and wonder, which enables us to notice what God is revealing to us.
I would describe myself as authentic, compassionate, creative, and expectant. It also means that, whilst I am rooted in sacramental Christianity, I am open to accompanying people of any or no faith, at any point in their journey.
My experience of God and life means I endeavour always to hold paradoxes lightly and embrace the 'both-and'.
What happens during a session is, in large part, up to you and God! What I offer is a safe and boundaried space for you to explore what is going on in your life. I will listen intently to all you bring, and seek to notice God's prompting in your life and in the session. I will also offer, as appropriate: summaries or paraphrases of what you have said; open questions; times of silence, stillness, prayer; what I have noticed, sensed, wondered or felt; touch-points with the Christian tradition and perennial wisdom; permission to be exactly who you are and express what you feel in the moment.
I currently meet people online or by phone, predominately in on weekday evenings or weekends. I use Google Meet, which feels very similar to Zoom and you do not need a Google account to join a meeting with me. I have a sliding scale of fees from £10 to £40 per session.

If you are interested in exploring a Spiritual Direction relationship with me, please use the 'Contact me' link to complete a form or email me via fiona@rootedjourneys.co.uk. I will get back in touch to arrange a mutually convenient time to have our initial conversation, for which there is no charge.
During our initial conversation, I will share a little about myself before asking you to share what you feel able. I will talk through what I can offer and explore a little about why you feel drawn to spiritual accompaniment. After this meeting, should you wish to continue, I will share an Accompaniment Agreement with you and we will schedule our first 'proper' session together.
At the end of each session, we will agree a date and time for our next meeting - these are usually 4-6 weeks apart. We continue the journey together, and see where it leads us. This is an open-ended relationship, that lasts as long as it feels appropriate for us both.
At least once a year, we will pause briefly together to review where we have been and where we think the journey may be taking us. You are also free to ask for a review at any time or draw our time together to a close.
